On Saturday, Oct. 5, Supervisor Pat Herrity (R-Springfield) joined the Prince of Peace Church for their annual Oktoberfest Neighborhood Block Party. At the event, Herrity did the honorary tapping of the keg. There was also food, live music, a beer garden, local vendors, a bounce house, family games, and much more. The games, food, and beverages were free to members of the public, thanks to the church and their neighborhood partners: Giant, Cardinal Plaza Shell, Bogacki Dental, Faces by Aria, Positive Image, Powerful Fitness, Safe Harbor Christian Counseling, Milano's, Title Boxing Club, Ledo's Pizza, One Life Fitness, Afghan Kabob, Lowell's Garden Patch, Cosmo Cleaners, Papa John's Pizza, Salaam Isa, Lutheran Hour Ministries, and Thrivent Financial.
