It was the perfect spring day for a game of T-Ball between the Hotrods and the Grasshoppers at Howery Field # 2 in Annandale last Saturday morning in a match hosted by the Annandale-North Springfield Little League (ANSLL). While no scores are kept, the 5-year-olds learn sportsmanship, how to hit a T-Ball, and run bases and catch throws from their fellow teammates.
John C. Cook, the Braddock District member of the Board of Supervisors, is the team sponsor to the Grasshoppers, and he stopped by to say hello to the players and pay his respects. "I'm a lifelong baseball fan," he said. "It's great to see the kids out and playing. It's a great program; we're a great county because people give their time to the sport."
